The notion of Africa as the origin of human life takes on a more dimensional meaning - you can see in the way the people live with the world, in the way their eyes, smiles, and sweat tell a story of survival. There are over 6,000 unique, indigenous tribes living on the African continent, Ntangou Badila showcases six of them in her Pop Culture series. She paints bold and vibrant members of Himba, Hamar, Fulani, Maasai, Hebesha, and Mangbetu tribes, evoking the "resurrection of aboriginal people's characteristics in a contemporary way. "We are coming into an age of like-mindedness and art is a huge contribution to inspiring relativity."
The African sun is strong and it fosters an immense wealth of natural elements. Badila boldly illustrates these by detailing the beautiful adornments of the tribal people, which are "completely resourced by the nature of their surroundings. For Badila this self-sufficient livelihood ..is a very transparent example of survival. Pop Culture highlights a cultural revival and awareness of these tribes,"all art affects culture in that it's a timekeeper, and culture is the collective action of the people. I'm now learning over the years how infinite the human being really is ".
